Can’t edit posts from edit screen

  When I begin a new post, I can put in the title but that is all, the area for the post won’t accept anything. Then I have to “save and continue” go to preview screen and then click on edit from there.

  When I bring up an old post, if I click edit, the area where the body of the post should be flashes the code for 1 second and then goes white. I have to then “save and continue” then click preview, then click edit from there and then it takes me back to the edit page where voila! the body of the text now appears.

  How can I fix this?

  Are you hosted here at wordpress.com? It appears like you are self-hosted using the wordpress software downloaded from wordpress.org. If that is the case, then you need to direct your question to http://wordpress.org/support/. WordPress.com uses different software and cannot help you.
