Can’t edit published blog post
-
When I try edit my last blog post, it says, ‘The editor has encountered an unexpected error.’ The Attempt Recovery, Copy Post Text and Copy error buttons does not change anything.
Site: https://travelswithmnm.wordpress.com.
WP.com: Yes
Correct account: Yes -
My recent blog post is titled: Thank You Kenya
Why is that icon displayed next to the title when I did not add that? How does one remove this or fix it so that I may re-edit? -
Ended up deleting the original post and republishing it again. I had to write the title instead of pasting from Microsoft Word and it somehow worked.

Hi there!
It looks like you were able to resolve this issue. That character is what the problem was here, likely due to copy and pasting from Microsoft Word.
Word, like most word processors, isn’t a “clean” text editor but instead will have hidden objects (or HTML) that can corrupt posts when copying and pasting directly into a web editor. Because of this, we strongly encourage our users to use WordPress.com post editor to create content and formatting on the fly.
We have some tips on how to use Word effectively and to avoid the messy copy/pasting formatting:
https://wordpress.com/support/microsoft-word/#using-microsoft-word-with-word-press-com
Hope that helps!
