Can't Edit Separator Block

  • Unknown's avatar

    When editing my post, I like to use the separator block. When I edit the separator block, using block settings, the appearance of the block changes on my editing screen, but it does not change on my actual site.

    I want to use the “default” setting for my separator block, but it only shows the wide line when viewing my site. In addition to not being to change the line style, I cannot change the color of the line. I can edit the separator block to be purple, and it will still appear grey on my website.

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Hi there,

    Your website is using the self-hosted WordPress software.

    To clear up any confusion, WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two different entities: https://wordpress.com/support/com-vs-org/

    For the self-hosted website, WordPress.org forums are the best.

    To get help at the WordPress.org community forums, please visit here: https://wordpress.org/support/forums/

    I can edit the separator block to be purple, and it will still appear grey on my website.

    In that case, you can use Custom CSS.

    Please go to Appearance » Customize » Additional CSS section in your WordPress admin area and paste the below CSS there:

    hr {
        border-top: 1px solid #800080;
    }

    You can change the value #800080 according to your requirements. Get the value for your color here: htmlcolorcodes.com 🙂
