Can’t embed
-
I have been trying it for 2 hours now but i still can’t get embeding youtube videos to work. I’ve just moved over to wordpress so I hope I could get some support. So i wanna embed a video from youtube.
For example: <object width=”340″ height=”285″><param name=”movie” value=”http://www.youtube.com/v/6bUKjhRgsNs&hl=en&fs=1&rel=0&color1=0xcc2550&color2=0xe87a9f&border=1″></param><param name=”allowFullScreen” value=”true”></param><param name=”allowscriptaccess” value=”always”></param><embed src=”http://www.youtube.com/v/6bUKjhRgsNs&hl=en&fs=1&rel=0&color1=0xcc2550&color2=0xe87a9f&border=1″ type=”application/x-shockwave-flash” allowscriptaccess=”always” allowfullscreen=”true” width=”340″ height=”285″></embed></object>
But when I post it it becomes something like this:EXAMPLE
[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7w8tdL67zlo&autoplay=1&hl=en&fs=1&rel=0&color1=0xcc2550&color2=0xe87a9f&border=1]The customization i chose all disappears and I can’t autoplay it.
I did the disable visual text thingy and the HTML- visual but it seems like it didn’t work for me.
I hope I could get some help on it. Thanks!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Flash is not directly supported here at wordpress.COM due to security concerns, and the Youtube code will always be turned into the shortcode in your second reference: http://faq.wordpress.com/2008/06/18/what-are-the-wordpress-shortcodes/ . That is so that they are in control of the flash code and can make sure that no bad code or security issues are introduced.

o.k. I understand.
I have a related problem, though. So far I did embed two media-files in my wordpress-blog:
1. a youtube-video-spot and
2. a home-recorded Audio.wma – file, uploadede at MediaFire. Both of them are just not running, “not available”.
I set the privacy -settings of the blog to medium but I added the following adresses to OpenID on the dashboard:
a) http://www.mediafire.com and
b) http://www.youtube.comHow come, this does´nt work?
Thanks for help!

Hi,
I have a related problem. I just migrated my blog (http://entertonement.wordpress.com) over from TypePad where I was embedding sound clips from entertonement.com. Apparently, it won’t let me to embed these audio files. Is there a way to opt in or pay a yearly fee that will allow embeds for corporate technology partners like Entertonement? We are willing to pay a fee, but just need to know how to make this work. Thanks!

Thanks. However, since our company is about sharing audio files through our embeddable players, we’d like to be able to embed the various players we have (inline, full size, blog card size) http://www.entertonement.com/static/samples. Also, having migrated from TypePad, we’d love for the embed codes we used to transfer over. We have no problem paying for this feature, but just need help figuring out next steps…
Here’s an example embed code of an 11 second clip. Is there any way of getting it on our blogs using our player?:
<embed src=”http://media.entertonement.com/embed/PlayerText.swf” id=”1_cc82b4c2_18b4_11de_90c2_0015c5f4d562″ name=”PlayerText” flashvars=”auto_play=0&meta_url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.entertonement.com%2Fclips%2Ffrcgqgpfhb.query&id=1_cc82b4c2_18b4_11de_90c2_0015c5f4d562″ width=”304″ height=”30″ style=”display: block; margin: 10px auto; text-align: center;” type=”application/x-shockwave-flash” pluginspage=”http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer” quality=”high” bgcolor=”#ffffff” wmode=”transparent” align=”middle” allowScriptAccess=”sameDomain” allowFullScreen=”false”><img alt=”Blank” border=”0″ height=”0″ src=”http://www.entertonement.com/widgets/img/clip/frcgqgpfhb/1/1_cc82b4c2_18b4_11de_90c2_0015c5f4d562/blank.gif” style=”visibility: hidden; width: 0px; height: 0px; margin:0; padding:0; float:right” width=”0″ />

Most embeds don’t work here and that one never will. Shockwave flash is stripped out for security reasons, along with javascript and iframes. If your company has to use that player, the money could go to a self-hosted blog using the free software from wordpress.org.

One other question – do you know if we can create a plugin for Entertonement content and use that for hosted blogs?
