Can't embed a code into a widget

  I am trying to link a shopstyle collective project widget onto the side of my homepage. various articles online provide me with steps, which shows me that this is possible, however when I try to copy the code into a text widget and publish, the polished widget doesn’t come up, just a jumble of code.
