Can't embed video
-
Hello,
I’m trying to embed a video on my site. When I post the embed code in the “Text” tab, it does not embed–it just shows the link on the page.
This is the embed code.
<iframe frameborder=”0″ scrolling=”no” src=”http://eplayer.clipsyndicate.com/embed/iframe?aspect_ratio=3×2&auto_start=0&pf_id=12168&rel=3&show_title=0&va_id=5464414&volume=8&windows=1″ width=”425″ height=”330″></iframe>
Any help? Thanks!!

You can’t embed iframes in a WP.com blog for security reasons. See the support documents for more information about how to display video http://en.support.wordpress.com/?s=video

There is no way to embed THAT video. You can, however, upload it to YouTube or somewhere that is an approved platform listed at that link. Or you can buy the $99 a year upgrade bundle, which includes Videopress, upload it to your own Videopress account, and embed it that way. Otherwise it’s not possible.
-
I believe with Videopress you can set it so that it can only be embedded in your particular site, which is not the case with the others.

Gotcha. If I don’t have the video file to upload, so it sounds like neither of those options work, correct? It’s only located on the website.

Just get a browser extension that does video downloads and grab the raw file. Then you can upload it where you want. Get one that has been rated by many people to be pretty decent. Some of them are horribly stuffed with viruses and such.
-
If it’s your clip, ask your IT department or editor if they can give you the raw flash file so you can upload it and embed it in your blog. Any IT department will understand the “no iframe embeds” constraint and help you work around it.
