Can't Embed YouTube Videos

Hey, I’m trying to embed a video from YouTube into a blog post but when I post it it just comes up as a black box with no play button or anything. I pasted the code into HTML mode, so it should work right? I’ve had this problem many times, I can’t get ANY YouTube videos to work.
Here is my blog and here is the video I am trying to embed.

I don’t understand what I’m doing wrong, it even looks like that in the instructions you gave me, could it be my flash player or something?

The video ohere Halo: A-Z Posted by halosuperfan117 on January 21, 2012 does appear and play for me. I believe you could have either a browser issue or a Flash issue.
Are you using http:// or https:// see http://en.support.wordpress.com/https/ Try the opposite.
Eaxctly which browser and version of it are you using?
Have you tried clearing your browser cache and cookies?
Is your browser version up to date? You can upgrade any browser version here.
Have you tried using the browser with all extensions or add-ons disabled?
Do you have third party cookies enabled?
Do you have JavaScript enabled?
Do you have another browser you can try?

Aloha! I’m having the same issue… since some days I can’t embed YouTube video and, if I’ve update an old post with a video, the player don’t appear, just the link.
Here’s one exaple:
1. I update today this post that contain YT video and now, broken:
Arte en Metaversos y ciberarte
2. In the same blog, you can see old post that contain YT video not updated and you can still watching it:

I’m posting here since 2008… so yes ;) The thing is that from one day to other, suddently, I can’t do it in any of my blogs.
As you can see, the old posts remains with YT video embed, but new ones not (just appear a link to the video in YT).

And I don’t know why… At the beggining I was thinking it was a bug of a new theme I choose for other one of my WPblogs, Ciència Oberta’s blog, but it seems to be happening with all. This started to happen suddenly a couple of weeks ago.

@nokeyuitza: I think we misunderstood each other. I’m not asking how long ago you have been posting videos from YouTube but rather if you used the [youtube] shortcode exactly as timethief explained. Otherwise, how would one explain that there are the following signs on the page where the code does not work… > ” and that the YouTube address is so long?

Hi, I am having a similar problem, these are the steps I have taken
Add new post
name post ‘video test’
click inside the post
then click on the Upload/Insert option
choose from url option
choose from the Audio, Video, or Other File option
copy and paste youtube url http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=endscreen&NR=1&v=wqku_Rc_YuI and insert into the URL
I then give it a title and insert into post
After all this I just get a hyperlink to the youtube url with the link text being the title I have given the video ‘fixing radiators.I’m I missing the obvious? Any help greatly appreciated.
