Can't embed youtube videos – 404 error

I’ve emebedded videos from youtube many times in the past, but now it doesn’t seem to be working …when I go to preview the post I get ‘404 error – file not found’?
I’ve tried:
– using the embed button (with both long and short link)
– copying the link into the post directly (with long and short link)
– copying youtube’s embed code into the post
– I’ve even tried copying the code from a previous post (where the video is working) into a new post
each time when I preview I see no embedded video, just 404 error?The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

OK, are you referring to a “Page not found” message from YouTube or from WordPress.com? And does this happen after you publish the post or when you are previewing? (You should click on “Save Draft” before previewing to avoid any issues).
This being said, click on the HTML tab (instead of Visual tab) and try copying and pasting the following code:
[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=STYU-iz8bUQ] -
I presume it’s a wordpress.com 404 message …I don’t see the title of my post, just the words “Error 404 – Not Found ” in the frame where the post should be.
– This has occured when I’m previewing, and after I save draft
– just tried copying the above code into HTML tab and still getting error message?

At least we ruled out the YouTube part.
Just to make sure, when you click on “Save Draft”, you need to wait until the post is actually saved before previewing. You don’t click on “Preview” immediately. -
Ah ha!!! …feeling kind of foolish I didn’t figure that one out …after I would click save draft, the page reloads and then takes a few more seconds to finish reloading …I was hitting preview before it had completely finished.
