cant enable comments

  I’ve tried everything to get my comments enabled and they simply don’t show up on posts. What am I doing wrong? I’ve gone to ‘Settings’ ‘Discussion’ and checked the boxes to allow for comments, even typed a new ‘prompt’ but there is no comment box on my blog.

  This forum is solely for issues regarding WordPress.com accounts and websites. Since http://jacoffey.com/ is evidently a self-hosted WordPress.org site, you should submit this and other support requests regarding the site to the WordPress.org support forums.   If you’re referring to a WordPress.com website, there is actually only one relevant box at Discussion Settings. So have you at Settings > Discussion > Default article settings, checked the box labeled Allow people to post comments on new articles?

  That should enable comments on posts and pages that are published after you check the box. For previously published posts and pages, comments have to be enable on each post/page individually.

  Yes, I’ve had those selected for some time now. Still doesn’t allow comments.

  Thanks for the feedback. All I did was click the “Support Help” button on my dashboard. It brought me here. If this isn’t the correct forum, then perhaps there should be a better link or a more delineated scope of reference, because to the layperson, there’s no difference between WordPress.org or WordPress.com.
