Can't entirely delete old theme and it 'bleeds' into other themes
-
I was trying different themes to see how they would look with my content. At some point I realized that one of the themes I installed – and then deleted – is ‘bleeding’ into any new theme I’m trying, modifying the layout, deleting items such as ‘featured content’ etc. How can I entirely delete any and all themes and start from scratch, so the templates show up properly? Thanks!

Hi there,
Technically, your previous theme doesn’t affect to your current theme. But there must be something which makes you feel like themes are ‘bleeding‘. Please refer to the following support page first: https://en.support.wordpress.com/themes/#switch-themes. If this support page doesn’t help your understanding, feel free to ask anytime here again.
However, you can start over your site anytime you want. The following support page will help you to do it.

Thank you, Hacchism! I have recently discovered the “Need help with customizing your theme?” link :). That helps too.
