Can’t figure out how to create blog

I am new to WordPress. I cannot figure out how to create a blog. I have searched through the forums and followed advice given to others, but I do not find any place that is for creating a blog.
I know about the widgets and so forth, that doesn’t help.
Do you have to download something for this to start?

When you signed up for your WordPress ID, you were given a choice to create a blog or just create a username. You can go back to WordPress.com’s main page and register a blog in one step by just clicking on the “Create New Blog” link.
What, exactly, did you search for when you searched the forum? I typed “Create Blog” into the search box and came up with a full page of threads, all of which answered this question.

I just want to post a blog, but i dont know how to do it? Can anybody suggest me how to post blogs?

This is a related topic. When I first signed up, I clicked on the just give me a name box. Then I decided to move a blog to this site from blogger and I did. The problem is that the name I used was my login name not the name of my blog. Now whenever someone tries to go to my blog using the name of my blog as an address at blogname.wordpress.com they are sent to my blog control panel. I don’t like this since it gives them direct access to my blog. How can I change this situation? I’d like my blog name to be the address not my login name as it apparently is now.

I also misunderstood this when I first registered my username here just as you did. That username became and still remains the same url http://timethief.wordpress.com
We can have as many blogs as we choose that have urls that reflect the blog titles. We can change the names of our blogs here -> Options any time we choose and the taglines as well, but we cannot change the original url http://faq.wordpress.com/2006/10/23/can-i-change-my-username/ -
Yes, that’s what I thought. And I read the post by Andy about adding names but I’m not sure I understood it. I moved a blog here but whenever I give someone the name of it, http://www.outofthepast.wordpress, they are directed to an opening page that gives out my domain name and access to my account while at the same time they are asked if they want to create a new blog. Should I just delete the whole blog and cancel my account and then completely start over or what?

http://outofthepast.wordpress.com/ has not been claimed as a blog. If i were you, i would go to http://wordpress.com/signup/ and claim it right now.
Then you can either give people your http://aluwishes.wordpress.com/ address or move your blog contents to http://outofthepast.wordpress.com/

Went to the first link you provided. The dialogue box wouldn’t accept any infomation.went to second link, and provided the info and now I have a new blog named outofthepast with a default theme, and no posts and I still have to log in as aluwishes and I still have the blog there with all my posts and the theme I selected. How does this solve my problem?

You can change the theme of the second blog to suit here
