Can't figure out how to install/upgrade to (free version of) WordPress 4.7.2

    Hi, I’m desperately trying to upgrade my current version of WordPress, 4.5.2, to version 4.7.2. I cannot figure out how to do that from my Dashboard area (nowhere there does it say an ‘Update’ option), and I cannot figure out how to install the unzipped folder of WordPress 4.7.2 files I’ve downloaded. The ‘5 minute installation’ tutorials I’ve read are absolute gibberish to a novice like me. Can you please help me?

    Unfortunately, this isn’t the right WordPress forum to help with that problem. It sounds like you’re talking about a self-hosted site using the WordPress.org software, but this forum is for sites hosted here on WordPress.com (where version upgrades are handled automatically without users needing to do anything). The two versions are different and have separate forums. Please post your question at the WordPress.org forum: https://wordpress.org/support/
