Can’t figure out how to link to index template in “Hey” template
-
I am customized the “Hey” template but unable to figure out how to do a few basic things. Appreciate any help y’all can offer.
- Currently, the front-page shows 5 items which is fine (and I know how to adjust that). But, I would like the home page to link to automatically link to the next 5 and display them using the index template. I cannot figure out how to
- link from the front-page template to the index template (which is part of the Hey theme and visible in the site editor)
- show some text on the front page that links to the index template such that when it loads it shows the 6th post in the series
- Currently, the front-page defaults to using the “front page” template – I haven’t figured out how to change that to be something else. Mostly just curious how to do that.

Hi there,
Thanks for reaching out and we’re glad you chose WordPress as your platform for your site.

However, if you choose to continue with your current host, I’d recommend seeking support for your current issues on the community forums for the open-source version of WordPress. That’s the version your host uses for their site, and the community there is highly knowledgeable and ready to assist. I trust they will be able to guide you through the specifics of linking your templates and displaying your posts on the front page, as these functionalities are dependent on your currently hosted version of WordPress.
I hope this helps and wish you all the best with your site.
