Can't figure out how to make a site…AND…not have it go live before I like it

  OK. I used the image optimizer. My photo is downloaded on my computer. How do I get into my Yoko blog and then do what you say:
  Appearance>Headder?

  Is this blog the same as a wordpress.com website? What I really want is a website. On WordPress.com are they one and the same?

  A blog is a post based website designed for interactive communication.

  A website is a page based site designed to operate as a one way means of communication ie. a noticeboard.

  blog = site with post based structure
  website = site with page based structure

  All blogs here support multiple images in various locations like header images, post images, page images, sidebar images, gravatar images, etc.

  Are you referring to an avatar/gravatar? http://en.support.wordpress.com/avatars/gravatars/

  To me, Avatar is a move with blue people.
  And Gravatar would be a sandwich with gravlox (lox & bagel) on it!
