Can’t figure out widgets

  Okay, so no matter where I look on wordpress, I can’t figure out one thing – how to work widgets. I know how to add the widget box to my sidebar tab, but I don’t know how insert text into the widget itself so that it appears on my page. HELP!!!

  Actually as far as text widgets (forgive me for reading your post too quickly) if you click on the square box at the right hand side of the widget bar (on the widgets page in the sidebar pane) it will open up a box where you can title the text widget and put in text.
