I am facing same pboblem (Can’t find “Appearance” in Dashboard Sidebar) as discussed in the thread
I have gone through the above thread but my problem is that I am the admin of my blog.
Please help me.

It seems I have made a mistake. I am the owner of the blog and the only user of the blog. I have changed my role to editor. Is there a way to undo the role setting?

got it. I remembered other user id registered with wordpress as administrator.
It is working fine.
