Can't find footer.php file to insert Google Analytics tracker code

  I want to find the code editor to insert Google Analytics code, but I can’t find it. Most tutorials say I should go to Appearance, then “Editor”, but there is no “Editor” under my Appearance menu. Why don’t I have it?

  You are reading a tutorial that only applies to self hosted WordPress.org installs.

  Can I use Google Analytics?
  No, Google Analytics cannot be used on WordPress.com blogs at this time. http://en.support.wordpress.com/stats/#additional-info

  There is no upgrade you can purchase form WordPress.com that allows you to run Google Analytics. Read this for clarity > WordPress.com vs. WordPress.org: The Differences
