Can't find 'Front Page' on Publication theme
-
I don’t have any content to show because I’ve been changing my free theme for over a year now and have deleted content. I want a personal blog theme so right now I am trying out ‘Publication’ theme. In the customiser, I don’t have a homepage setting to change to a static page. I know you have to have published a page first which I thought I did. The more I look for help on WP the more confused I’ve become and I might be going ga-ga.
What I want: simple, large featured image as frontpage (so far so good) (I used Canva to include my site title and tagline embedded in the featured image). Publication has a clear and simple menu icon which I like (I’ll decide later if I want to add items).
I don’t want my home page to be scrolling posts.I don’t know what Publication offers as the theme info to me is vague.
Can someone tell me what I am doing wrong and what options I have. (I don’t know code….Simples)
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there!
The large Featured Image is used for the first post on your blog’s homepage so, if you set your front page to display a static page, you won’t get that demo look.
However, you can still use the static page and display a large image on top of it. Try to add the Cover Block for that:
I know you have to have published a page first which I thought I did.
You did publish a page but you set it as private, that’s why it doesn’t appear for you to choose as a static home page :)
Since your whole site is private right now, there is no need to set each page as private as well. Nobody that’s not authorized by you won’t be able to see your site right now.
