can't find my blog posts

Just changed theme to Espied from 2010. Made my portfolio my first static page. Now I can’t find my blog posts so I can assign it as my blog under menu. If I go to archives, I can find them 5 at a time, but I would like to create a page titled “blog” under menu that has all my posts.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    You can do this.

    1) Create a new page called ‘Blog’
    2) Publish it.
    3) In your dashboard, go to Settings > Reading
    4) Set the ‘Front page displays’ to ‘A static page (select below)’
    5) Set a page for your front page (ex: Home)
    6) Set the ‘Posts page’ to your new ‘Blog’ page you just created.

That should do it! If you go to the Blog page, that should show a list of all of your posts.

Did what you explained, and I now have a blog page. But no posts exist in it. All my posts seem to only exist in archives. Is this because it only displays recent posts and there is no recent post?

I’m also wondering if this theme is right for me. I set a portfolio page as the first static page; it pulled a couple of my projects into it, but I’ve posted much more art on my blog than this. Do I have to assign what projects/artwork get assigned to the portfolio page? Also, I would prefer the blocky layout I see in the Espied example. I’m not seeing that with my blog. Will the menu always be hidden off in the upper right corner? I don’t know if I want my personal information and blog hidden so much.

    Confused and lost,

    Dave

blog posts seem to have shown up in my blog page now.

still don’t know how to get that cool layout in the snapshot of Espied (with thumbnail images and no text.

do you know of any other good themes that would be good for an artist to use as a portfolio site with blog capabilities?

    Thanks,

    Dave

Go to the Settings->Reading page and set the posts page to the Blog page.
