Can’t find my WordPress account and blog
-
I created a WordPress blog last year about this time (early August) but due to a computer crash I can’t seem to find login information in order to get to the management area and make changes/additions. The account I’m contacting you from tells no web site exists. The blog shows up on a browser so it’s still there but I want to add new images and information. The blog address is ‘alanstoneartgraphics.wordpress.com’. What I don’t know is if I used this account, or created another WordPress account using another email address: (email visible only to moderators and staff). Any help you can provide would be appreciated.
Sincerely,
Alan Stone -
hi,
A Staff can let you know the name of the user account that created alanstoneartgraphics.wordpress.com but not the email associated with it.
If you don’t know the password for that account, you can request it here, and you will receive instructions on how to log in:
https://en.wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=lostpasswordIf you don’t have access to the email registered for the account, your only other option is account recovery.
For account recovery, please fill out the account recovery form (https://en.wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=recovery) and the staff will get in touch with you as soon as possible. Here is the support page for more information on recovering your account:
If you don’t have access to the email address associated with the account, in order to regain access to it, we’ll need one of the following things:
* A transaction ID for any upgrades purchased for the account
https://en.support.wordpress.com/transaction-id/
* The WordPress.com account activation link, which we sent to your email address when you first registered with us. If the email you received included a confirmation button instead of a link, you can copy the activation URL by right-clicking on the button and selecting “Copy Link Address” (this text may slightly vary, depending on your browser).
Here’s additional information to retrieve the transaction ID if you don’t have the email receipt:
https://en.support.wordpress.com/transaction-id/#if-you-dont-have-access-to-the-receiptI have tagged modlook for a Staff to help let you know the name of the user account that created alanstoneartgraphics.wordpress.com.
Thank you for your patience while they get back to you ; ) -
Hi Alan,
I can tell you the username that owns that site is alanstoneartgraphics, but for security reasons I cannot tell you the email address associated with that account.
Please try resetting the password for the account using the username. If you have access to the correct email address, you should receive the password link there, so check all email accounts you own for the email.
If you don’t receive that email on any of your email accounts, the only other option is the account recovery process as explained above.

I’ve reset the password for our two WordPress accounts.
One is under the email: (email visible only to moderators and staff) and has the blog “Who was Billie Wells” under the web address of “terrysquirestone.wordpress.com.
The second is under the email: (email visible only to moderators and staff). That account shows no site or blog.
The blog I created for “alanstoneartgraphics.wordpress.com” does not give any indication as to the email address or login information and I can find no email receipt of the creation of that blog back in August 2017.
I will proceed to try the account recovery process.
Thanks,

Thanks for the update, Alan. As a tip, you may enter the username
alanstoneartgraphicsin the password reset form and we’ll send the password reset to the email on file.Let us know if you need additional help.

Thank you so much!!! This trick worked. The problem was with the Mac address registered with that blog. Because Apple uses multiple suffixes on a single Mac address (i.e. “.mac”, “.me” and “.icloud”) I didn’t realize the blog was created with one than I normally wouldn’t use. This trick answered that question as somehow one of the other suffixes was used.
All is good now.
Thanks, again.
