Can't find "Post Format"? How do I customize Page Attributes & Page Template?

  When I publish a page, there is no “post format” option. I would like to post some asides, which my theme supports. It’s not where the support pages said it should be.

  Your Page Attributes are located on the right side of the page in your Page Editor at (for example) https://lightofselene.wordpress.com/wp-admin/post.php?post=886&action=edit. Here’s a screenshot – https://skitch.com/mkoenig/fgh77/page-attributes.

  Thank you for responding so quickly but that still doesn’t answer my question.

  I would like to post something as an aside, which is discussed here http://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/post-formats/, the box with the options “standard, aside, gallery” does not show up on my editing page.

  Okay, first can you make sure you’re writing a post and not a page? The post formats option only works for posts. Pages are actually a separate type of content.

  If you’re writing a post and still don’t see it then you may need to make sure you have them set to display in your screen options.
