Hi there!
Taking a look at your site saltspringislandtango.wordpress.com now, I can see that a lot of your pages and posts are using the Classic block.
Usually with that block, text can be edited by clicking on it within the block and then using the toolbar that appears at the top, like this: https://wordpress.com/support/wordpress-editor/blocks/classic-block/#editing-in-the-classic-block
Do you have a link to a specific page or post on your site where you were expecting the editing tools to appear or pop up? Once we have that link, we’ll be happy to take a closer look.
