Can’t Find the “Press It” bookmarklet
-
At least, I think that’s what I’m looking for.
It’s like this. I’ve seen something interesting while browsing the web, outside of WordPress. I want to post about it on my WordPress blog. But I don’t want to have to go to my blog, go into the dashboard, go into “Write Posts” and write the link out manually…unless I absolutely have to.
Do I have to? From the FAQ, and earlier forum topics, it looked as though I should be able to get a bookmarklet to short-cut this process. But all the instructions say “go to the Write Posts page and scroll down to find the bookmarklet”. I’ve done that, and I just can’t see it. Is it just me, or has it moved somewhere else?
Please help, I’m beginning to doubt my eyesight – or possibly my sanity :-0
Thanks,
Dena

I have the same problem, I don’t know how many times I have looked for the darn thing, I just don’t think it is there…

It’s not on the Admin bar anymore. But you can still install it in your browser bar:

you can just create a new bookmark with the following javascript code — just replace the ENTERUSERNAMEHERE part with your username:
javascript:if(navigator.userAgent.indexOf(‘Safari’)%20%3E=%200)%7BQ=getSelection();%7Delse%7BQ=document.selection?document.selection.createRange().text:document.getSelection();%7Dlocation.href=’http://ENTERUSERNAMEHERE.wordpress.com/wp-admin/post-new.php?text=’+encodeURIComponent(Q)+’&popupurl=’+encodeURIComponent(location.href)+’&popuptitle=’+encodeURIComponent(document.title);
