Hi!
So, there are a couple problems here. The first is that the WordPress.com user account you are posting from is not the owner or admin of the site you are trying to access. This typically happens when you’ve ended up with a second WordPress.com user account and that second account is the one that owns the site. You’ll need to log into THAT user account in order to make any changes.
If you do not have access to that second account, here are a few options:
Account recovery overview – https://wordpress.com/support/account-recovery/
Lost password tool – https://wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=lostpassword
Account recovery form – https://wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=recovery -
The second issue is that once you log into the correct account, you will need to finish setting up Domain Mapping so that peterlyne.com points to your WordPress.com account.

Take a look and let us know if anything is unclear or you have any further questions.

Thank you for replying to the previous message (Yesterday we built the website peterlyne.com. This can’t be found now. CAn you help?)
I think part of the problem may be that Peter’s congratulation email quoted website peterlynecom.wordpress.com, is up and running!
We set up peterlyne.com at wordpress. Does the fact that the website has no dot between his name and com, mean we made a mistake there?? -
I have merged your reply to the original post so that everything stays in one place.
As staff-ozmodiar mentioned, you will need to finish mapping the domain by changing the nameservers on it:https://wordpress.com/support/domains/map-existing-domain/#change-your-domains-name-servers
Once that is done, the domain peterlyne.com will be correctly displaying your site, and, if you set the domain as your primary domain, the address peterlynecom.wordpress.com will not be visible to anyone.
