Can't follow my blog

    Some people can’t follow my blog: on their mail, when they click to activate, they receive a page “your subscribtion could not be activated. It may have expired”.
    They are French and don’t understand English…. And even me who can, I dont understand what’s the problem.

    Hi there,

    I was able to successfully subscribe to your blog via email when I visited your site. I received the email confirmation right away. Can you have these users try again? Perhaps they are waiting several days in between the time when they click to subscribe and the time they click the confirmation link in their email folder. The email link will expire after a number of hours.

    Let me know if they’re still having trouble!

    Oh thanks for your answer, I wasn’t expecting it so soon!
    No, that’s the problem with my last user, she does it right away…
    I asked her to try another navigator (i don’t know if it’s the word you use)… she is on internet explorer, I asked her to try Mozilla or another one…
    I don’t know what to propose her after that… try with another mail address??
    She sent me a screen copy. If you want to see it, I can join it (I just don’t know how to do it here).

    Can you upload the screenshot to your Media Library so I can take a look?

    Trying another browser is a great idea! Also, can you let me know the email address she’s trying to use when subscribing? Just a note, it will appear as [redacted] in the public view of the forum. However, it will be visible to WordPress.com staff members.

    Thanks a lot!! The mystery of these people who regularly tell me they can’t suscribe may be solved one day…
    (another question: why do they have the page in English to confirm although when I try it myself it’s in French, as I asked?)…

    From there, ask them to follow the instructions under “Manage Your Subscriptions”. That will generate an email that gives them instructions on how to manage their subscriptions.

    Once they’ve received those, they can activate their subscription to your site from the page here:

    Please let me know if they have any trouble with those instructions!

    Regarding the English/French discrepancy, your site and WordPress.com interface are both in French. However, that doesn’t change the interface outside of your site for other users. Does that make sense? Since the subscription page is not directly related to your site, it doesn’t follow the same language settings as your blog.
