can't follow other sites anymore

    So today, I searched travel and itinerary and followed prominent people who has complete knowledge on travel blogging and so I can check out their page on other days and learn from them since i’m just starting out here. After following some, now I can’t follow anyone anymore. It always says error following etc etc. I wonder, do you we have a quota as to how many per user can follow a day? If so, how many? And would I be able to follow again sites in the future? Thanks!

    Hey Carlakalay,
    I’m not sure if there is an exact quota of how many blogs or sites you can follow, however, if you follow too many in a short amount of time, you will get flagged and be unable to follow anymore. I believe, only staff can help you out after that happen, so I can tag this post with ‘modlook’ so that a staff member will see it and help you out.

    Hi there,

    Our logs show you following up to 17 sites in a single minute with follows in some cases less than a second apart. That type of rapid bulk following is something our system associated with bots and spammers and causes your account to be temporarily blocked from following. If you continue following sites in this way the block will become permanent at some point.

    The Reader’s Following feature is intended for following posts on a reasonable number of sites that you actually want to read. If you follow three sites in the course of two seconds you are very clearly not reading anything on those sites. I suggest you rather take some time exploring sites you discover via searching the Reader and make sure you actually do want to read them before you follow them.

    Hi,
    I was unaware of this rule and followed too many people in a go
    Now that I have understood the thing I won’t be doing it further
    Please unblock my account from following

    It looks like your account was mistakenly blocked from following in September. You are only following around 200 sites right now, which is well within the limits. I have re-enabled following on your account again.
