Can’t follow sites anymore

    For some reason whenever I go to blogs, no matter where I attempt to follow them from (even by typing their url into the ‘manage followed blogs’ section of my reader), I no longer see the option to follow blogs.

    I am aware WordPress has limitations in place but as far as I know I have not come close to exceeding or even remotely violating any of these limitations at any point.

    Hi there!

    You are right about the limitations. Sometimes Following gets temporarily suspended for surpassing the bulk-following limits.
    You can read this response from Kokkieh (staff) who explained why this could be triggered.

    Hi there,

    I checked your account and your following ability isn’t blocked. Can you please check if you can follow the sites directly by using the Follow button that appears in the bottom right-hand corner?

    I have already stated that I no longer see the option to follow blogs. As in: It doesn’t appear for me at all; the buttons for following people no longer exist altogether on any area where they are supposed to be. They disappeared for me about a week ago (at minimum. Truthfully I do not log in all that often so it could be longer. I would have no way of knowing) and have not returned.

    This is true for the front page of a blog directly from their URL. It is true for the “manage followed blogs” section of the WordPress Reader, where you type their URL indirectly. It is true when viewing blogs from the interior readers; I do not even have the option to follow and unfollow blogs that I am already following.

    The entire function is gone altogether when viewing things from my account.

    Hmm, that’s odd. When I access your account and click on Manage Followed Sites in the Reader, this is what I see:

    Everything seems to be just as it should.

    Could you share a screenshot of what you see on your end? You can use an online tool for that (such as https://snipboard.io/) and paste the link into your reply.

    I suspect the culprit could be your browser. Are you using any browser extensions, like an ad-block of sorts? If so, please try to disable it temporarily.
