Can't forward squarespace blog to wordpress hosting
-
Hello,
I followed the instructions on squarespace site and changed my CNAME as they suggested, but when I get to “forwarding” step, I can’t see any forwarding setting under my dns settings.
I’m badly in need of help
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Ok I recently found out about some stuff.Changing CNAME doesn’t work as wordpress admins say.
So I need a help by an admin to point my dns settings for me pretty please.
-
Since wordpress doesn’t allow forwarding, I need some guidance to change my DNS settings to map my wordpress domain to my new squarespace blog.

Hi there,
Though it isn’t widely advertised, your Squarespace account is associated with an IP address which we can point your domain name to. If you can log in to your Squarespace account and find that IP, we can set your domain to that IP. I’m told that it is generally in your domain interface somewhere (it will say something like “your domain is not set correctly. Current IP is XXX and should be YYY”).
Let me know if you can find that IP address and I’ll take care of the rest!

I’m having exactly the same issue. Squarespace is not a name host per se, so you can’t simply change your nameserver. I don’t know of any way to see the IP associated with the Squarespace account, but I’ll keep looking. The only other option, I gather, is to transfer the domain to a different host (like Hover)…is that correct?

Yes, that is correct. You can transfer it to any number of domain registrars as long as you’ve owned your domain for longer than 60 days. You are unable to transfer your domain anywhere within your domain’s first 60 days of life.
The 60 day registrar lock is one which is industry-wide and intended to prevent domain theft. It isn’t something which we can undo.
