Can't get affiliate links to show up

  I am trying to add affiliate​ links to my blog. When I paste the code that is all that shows up not the banner.

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Banners are images and they are not allowed. Affiliate widgets are not allowed either and the software will strip the codes out.

  1. WordPress.com allows bloggers to insert text affiliate links within post and page content to most third-party affiliate programs, provided they are not the primary content of the site in question.

  2. Image affiliate links in posts and pages and any banners, affiliate links in sidebar or footer widget areas, are still considered to be advertising and are not allowed on WordPress.com blogs.

  So this is what the affiliate-link support referenced about says:

  When blogging about books you’re reading, music you love, clothes that strike your fancy, gadgets you’re drooling over, or whatever interests you and your readers, feel free to post relevant affiliate links using either text or images.

  I would like to link the image of books to my wordpress website. From this thread I am not clear as to whether that is possible?
