Can't get back into my site.

I had a web site which is online and active. I can post on it and I even (accidentally?) manage to edit its subtitle the other day but every time I try to work on it I end up in another account which has nothing to do with it and whenever I try to log in WordPress says the account doesn’t exist.

    The original account was infinitonyhawkins.wordpress.com

My name was infinitony or Infinitony

I tried creating another site called funpolitical, and I seem to become locked out of infinitony and change the new name to infinitoony, which was silly, but didn’t matter for a silly, experimental site. What I want to do is abandon the new sites and get back into the original so I can get on with some work. Starting again isn’t possible because the original name (which is the best and changing would require a lot of other changes) is locked up with the now inaccessible site.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Is your original account that you need to log into under the username/password you are using that brings you to the other account?

Is it possible that maybe your login credentials are different?

The site i want help with is really infinitonyhawkins.wordpress.com

    Fun political is secondary.

I’m sure they are different but every attempt with usernames/passwords that I’ve got fails. My impression is something went wrong when I started the second site funpolitical and I had to use another name and password. I then wonder if I was only allow one site at a time on a free site.

I wondered about deleting the other sites and account.

Do WordPress have no administrators we can ask to look at it?

I wouldn’t delete your other sites. You can have multiple sites here at WordPress.com but you do need to keep note of log in details and passwords (and the Email addresses associated with the different sites). As infinitonyhawkins.wordpress.com is still viewable it’s simply a matter of remembering your password. If you bookmark in your browser https://infinitonyhawkins.wordpress.com/wp-admin and put in your correct username and password all should be well.

But even when it gives me the option of a new password it takes me only to infinitoony. It says I have no right to access the other site.

And I’ve just tried to do account recovery but I have no Transaction ID, no activation URL or key and no authentication code. So, they won’t play.

I think there has been a breakdown in the background software. The two sites appear to be tangled together. I don’t suppose there is a way of getting to talk to a WordPress tech person about this?
For instance, I have just read that 98% of WordPress websites are vulnerable to attack. This does not make for confidence boosting reading.

I think here at WordPress.com is safer than many places on the Interweb.

    Have you tried saving

https://infinitonyhawkins.wordpress.com/wp-admin in your browser. Log out of this account which is only confusing the issue. Clear all cookies and log back in to the above and think really hard about what password you used for your first site you are seeking.

I’ll try. I know the first password I ever used but, of course, it was changed.

You say ‘here at WordPress’. Are you actually in their employ?
