Can’t get back to my blog

  • Unknown's avatar

I bought a domain name today and all that… upgrading my blog to be. I realised too late that I still had an old defunct email address a contact and now the verification and receipt and everything has gone to an email address I can no longer access. The only transaction info I have is a code of letters that’s in my transaction history. I was stupid enough to try to update my contact details in my account and now everything is so screwed up I can’t even get through on the support page.

  • Hi, so sorry to hear that. We’d be happy to help straighten this out though. First, what domain are you referring to? You seem to be logged into a different account, as there aren’t any domains associated with this username.

Once we have that, we’ll check it out and point you in the right direction for support.

Hi, thank you for the reply. Eventually I did manage to get through a support ticket. This is indeed another account, which just happens to share my new email address.

The site in question is pocketfulofweeds.blog… or what it might still be under: pocketfulofweeds.wordpress.com. The username for that account is ‘sissregi’ (I think) or if my late change did work ‘arscill’.

It is all my clumsiness that caused this. I should have checked that I’d changed my email to the new one before I did the upgrade.

  • No worries. Are you all set now?

Hi again. No, things hasn’t changed. When I’ve tried to log in using the ‘correct’ username, it says the account is closed but when I type in the URL I can get to the site, but of course it will tell me it’s private and I can’t get in.

  • The sissregi username no longer exists, no. It looks like that username was changed to arscill yesterday. That’s the account that owns pocketfulofweeds.blog, so if you log in as arscill you should have access to that site.
