Can’t get Bravatar to show up
-
I have uploaded an Image for a Gravatar, as well as placed the Gravatar widget in the side bar editing box, (Widget) collumn, and yet ..can’t see any changes. Also I read that I could click and drag the Gravatar Widget into place…and choose my settings..but, no setting option seems to be available. Thank You
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

The Gravatar is not the same as a Blavatar, if that’s what you’re thinking.
Gravatar is just an avatar, but it works at sites outside of WP.com as well as inside.
Blavatar is an emblem that represents your blog and shows up in the browser bar; it’s also called a favicon. You upload that on your main blog Settings->General page.

Thanks again, but thats where I uploaded it like two hours or more ago, and it said it will be seen “Around” wordpress real soon, I was only wondering …had i done something wrong?

Ok, maybe I am trying to do something that is not what I was hoping for…here in plain english were my ultimate intentions: I would like for the same Image that is showing as my Gravatar ..as an Image on my Blog Page, maybe in the Sidebar, or close to the Title of the Site , in the header..is that possible?
LOL sorry for the confusion in words.. I have actually uploaded the same image for both Grav-Brav’s thanks again for all your help..
Both of you. -
Sure, that’s not hard. You need to use the same image for your Gravatar, put the Gravatar widget in the sidebar OR use a text widget with the image in it, use the image for your Blavatar, and make a header image with that picture in it by choosing a theme with a customizable header and then upload and crop that header.
Does that make sense? Seems like you need to add the Gravatar widget (or text widget with the image in it, your choice) and do the header upload. You WILL have to change your theme, though, as the current theme does not have a customizable header.

Oh, ok, yeah that makes sense… one more question though, LOL, if I only want it in my Side bar, as say a text wrapped image? Can I use the current theme?
Thanks Again for all your help. -
Sure, you can do that. I like to format text widgets by making a draft post and once everything looks the way I want it I click to the HTML editor and copy all the code. I paste the code into a text widget. That way i don’t have to write it all in code.

LOL, I’m no Code Jocky, to say the least, I built my web site one(Pre-Written) code at a time.. I have learned a little bit on how to “Delete” a few unwanted options, and add a few inches to the size of the html item, thats about it ..Thanks again for all you help..if you ever want to see the finished product of this it will be @ sonsothunder.wordpress.com
Thanks again for all your help.
God Bless you -

Oh, now I think I am seeing ..what I was sort of wondering about all along..
With the theme I am using… are my Side Bar Items supposed to be way at the bottom of the page under the last post?
Really not what I’m looking for. LOL -
A similar problem I have run into designing my site, was that something that I added to the body of the site was too wide, and was pushing the side bar down? But, all I have added here ..are Blog Entries?

Take a look through here:
https://en.forums.wordpress.com/tags/sidebar
There are several possible causes, it’s probably one of the first ones mentioned.

Unfortunately, I think I just figured out the meaning behind the name of my chosen”Theme” (Chaos Theory)
LOL, I removed all of my added widgets, and the “About Me” and the two Boxes, Pages, Categories, Archives,
& the Search Box, and Blogroll etc.. are all still below the Blog Body? I’m thinking maybe it’s meant to be? -
If you have not added any widgets to the sidebar (nothing show at appearance > widgets) then what you are seeing is a theme-generated sample display of widget so you can see what the theme looks like. The sample set goes away when you add a widget, so if you add a widget, then you have to add in the other widgets that you want to be in the sidebar also.

Are you aware of the new Gravatar widget? http://en.blog.wordpress.com/2009/07/23/gravatar-widget/#comment-69289

My gravatar is not showing up, nor is the post I just pasted into the box. What am I doing wrong?
