Can't Get Categories To Show Up Under "Categories" Menu

  I’ve seen this problem addressed, but none of the other times have given an answer that I can actually use.

  We have posted private articles (The page isn’t ready to go live yet) and have assigned them categories. We created six categories, and three of them are being used by the posted articles. If I access the categories through the dashboard they all show up, and clicking any category takes me to a list of posts that are in that category. However, on the page itself, the Categories widget says that there are no categories.

  We have a free account and are using the web-based editor if that helps.

  A category won’t show in the C. widget if the posts that are filed under it are drafts or private. If the site isn’t ready yet, you can turn all the posts to public and turn the blog to private.
