Can’t get [contact-form] to work.
-
I have WP installed at http://lifttruckmassii.com/used/. The person is looking for an easy way to put contact info in, so I found the info on using the [contact-form] shortcode on http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact-form/. I followed the directions and tried it by adding to both a post or a page by typing or copying the code into the HTML tab of the edit field. All I ever get when I view the post or page is text that reads “[contact-form]“. I have comments disabled as suggested, but I don’t think that’s a problem because it doesn’t show the form at all. So please what am I doing wrong?

http://lifttruckmassii.com/used/ is not hosted here at WordPress.com, so it does not have the [contact-form] shortcode functionality available to it. If you want a contact form for that blog, you’ll need a plugin. Please head over to http://wordpress.org/support for the appropriate support forums.

Ah, ok. It didn’t occur to me that that was for WP hosted sites. Perhaps this should be clarified on the pages regarding Shortcode because I simply found it via Google and there was no indication of a limitation or requirement for Shortcode.

HELP! I have a wordpress hosted blog and am trying to insert [contact-form] into a post. I type this in and Update my post, and then View Post. There is nothing on my post….no fillout form and not even the text. I have checked the spelling, and even bold faced it (as is shown on the support info), but still it does not show up on my Updated Post.
