Can’t get custom bullet points in unordered lists using Vigilance theme
-
I’m having a problem with my site, benchmarkprojects.wordpress.com.
I’m trying to change the bullets from the weird star, which is the default, to a custom bullet on the sticky on the home page.
I’ve found out how to remove them, but not how to replace them. The best I’ve been able to do is getting my .gif of choice in front of the entries on the sidebar and at the top, which is not what I need. Any help would be appreciated.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Thank you, but no dice on that.
I reverted it back to the default, just in case that makes it easier to figure out.
I want to get replace those stars in the main entry on the home page with a small. gif of a black square and it just won’t take. I reach for the stars, but I don’t want them on my page.

My bad, I didn’t include the background property in my code above… don’t know why I omitted it… try this:
.entry ul li { background: transparent url(URL-TO-YOUR-IMAGE) 0 0 no-repeat; } -
Thank you so much. I dug around forever and couldn’t find anything. You saved my head from going through my monitor.
For a stranger who may stumble across this, and is also CSS challenged, the “0 0” define the location of the bullet horizontally/vertically.

I am trying to do the same thing – replace the stars with “anything else” like a simple standard dot. Where do I copy paste the above text in the beginning of the code? – on the main page?

Have you purchased a CSS upgrade for the blog in question? I’m asking because the code above is for CSS editing and only applies to those who have this theme and the CSS editing upgrade. -

Then, obviously, you will not be able to make custom changes to your CSS except in the free Preview. Those changes will not save and become visible to your readers until you make the purchase of the upgrade.
