Can’t get help! Urgent!

I’ve posted on this before, but I am struggling to get the visual editor loaded. Have tried all the usual things, checking profile, clearing cache and cookies, tried different browsers and different pcs. The problem persists but I can’t seem to get any help. Someone gave me a link to click on but all I got was a 404 error page. How do I get help? Please, please I really need to get this sorted or the blog is completely useless for its intended purpose which is to help our school.

Desperately hoping you can come up with a solution! -
First off, check at users > your profile and make sure that “Disable the visual editor when writing” right at the top is NOT selected. If it is then deselect it and then click “update profile.”
Now, log out of wordpress, clear your browser cache and cookies, restart your browser and then try again.

Just visited your blog by the way, the Marcus Aurelius quote was very apt for my current state of distress! Even if my perception is getting a little out of control could do with getting this sorted!

Yes, the title of the post appears and the HTML and visual tabs are there. The visual tab appears to be selected but there are no buttons and no content to be seen below. You can switch to HTML and the content appears but you can’t toggle back to visual, it just remains in HTML mode. It appears to be trying to load but never fully gets there, even if I go off and do something else for a while.

I’ve tried a few now, normal browser is BT Yahoo!, but have also tried firefox and just now at my brother’s suggestion Google Chrome. Still not working in any!

I’m out of suggestions, so I’ve modlooked this thread so that staff can take a look for you. It may be a few hours since they are at a meetup in the UK, and right now it is nighttime there.

Thank you for that I hope they can sort us out and thanks for your help. Being in the UK myself I’m well aware of the time! I’ve never heard of the word ‘modlooked’ before (ho! ho! neither has the spell checker!)

Can it be anything to do with the theme we’re using? Currently vanilla mist and we’re using the custom header. Don’t really want to go changing this if its nothing to do with the problem, I keep having to draw new stick people!

I have logged in as you and can see the visual editor buttons fine. Please go back to the new post or edit post page and click on the visual tab. When HTML is selected it can sometimes appear as if visual is selected.

Maybe clear cookies, cache, and history and reload the browser. Works for me whenever anything funky happens.

I get this issue OFTEN. Like, perhaps 25% of the time. I’m using a 24-month-old Dell with the latest Firefox. I just hit Refresh and it usually resolves itself; if not, I just do my typing in the HTML tab and then Publish, then Edit and click back to Visual. That sometimes works, sometimes I have to do it repeatedly.

Thanks for all your suggestions, I am beginning to wonder whether I’m doing something very obviously wrong but just can’t see it. I’ve sent screenshots to support and will now wait to see what happens next.

for now, try to do post-by-email; that should allow you to add posts while mods spend their time pondering i t over.
