Can’t get image from media library into post

    What a frustrating week! I have upgraded Flash, upgraded Internet Explorer from 6 to 7, tried numerous ways to overcome this problem and despite support am no better off.
    The only way I can get an image into the post is in the form of a poor quality thumbnail which cannot be enlarged by cutting and pasting from the media library. Occasionally one has popped in full size good quality doing it this way, but this is very unreliable. How disappointing when the first editor worked so well. My cursor disappears when I go to add media – that could be part of it. Anyone have any ideas please?

    I hope this idea helps and doesn’t add to the problem, but you know what I do? I don’t use wordpress for images.

    I use flickr and photobucket. I haven’t had any of the issues everyone else is having. I’ve been imaging away with no problems whatsoever. If you’d like to consider it just go to flickr.com and open a free account, same for photbucket. then upload any given photo to there and copy the code for whatever size you want and you’re done. flickr is the most simple to use if you don’t need to edit your photos, besides the sizes. flickr will give you sizes to choose from.

    I, too, use flickr for my photos—though I did run into a problem last night where I went over their max number of images for a free account (200). But because half of the posting I do is from a Mac, it’s so much easier to just be able to link to an image that’s hosted elsewhere (and flickr will give you different urls for different sized images) instead of trying to get it uploaded.

    I, too, haven’t been able to insert anything–or even select anything–in my media library since the changeover to the new dashboard. So if I want to reuse an image I’ve already uploaded, I just go to that post, copy the HTML code and paste it into the new post.

    If you are using Safari, Safari 3.x has been trouble-free for me, but Safari 2.x is an issue.

    Using the wordpress ‘faq’s and the forums themselves is a great search tool. many questions have been addressed before; often many times. so remember we always have these at hand to help us, too.
