Cant get into my account
-
I am paying WordPress on my credit card $65 p/mth. every month. I signed up for the professional plan (I think thats what its called) I paid for 2 domains, and I signed up for e-mail addresses, But I cant get into my account and the ChatBot can’t resolve the issue saying I must talk to a human. When I request to talk to a human I get a message that I must have a paid account and I’m referred to the form which is of no help. I’ve been fooling around with this for hours now and getting nowhere at one point I was diverted to just ask.com who tricked me into signing up for a monthly account without my approval. I promptly cancelled it. But I feel I was deceived into it. I spent so much time on this now I’m at the end of my frustration level and I’m ready to report this to the Better Business Bureau who will intervene.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there @rsmitha6402e5bc5, thank you for reaching out. I am really sorry for the frustration this has caused. I understand how stressful it is when you are paying for a service and cannot access your account. No worries, I’ll help you out.
To clarify things, what do you mean by “But I cant get into my account “? What specific error are you experiencing? Please share a screenshot.
Once you share it, I will be able to diagnose the issue further and help you get back into your account as soon as possible.
Cheers,
Jim

What I mean is that my website http://www.necxtgenfleet.org is gonezo! There is no longer a website http://www.nextgenfleet.org associated with my account, which I am paying for each month. I worked on the site last week and made many edits, and I planned to publish it and go live this week. But it’s no longer visible or accessible to me. I suspect it’s because my previous domain http://www.fleetchallenge.com had been allowed to lapse by the new owner of that company, which I had sold 2 years ago. I had created nextgen site by re-branding the Fleet Challenge website, and I believe the new owner let the Fleet Challenge domain lapse.

I understand how stressful this is, especially after putting so much work into your site and dealing with confusion from third-party services like the one you mentioned.
I took a look at the domains you mentioned (
necxtgenfleet.organdfleetchallenge.com), and currently, neither of these appear to be hosted on WordPress.com.However, since you mentioned you are paying WordPress.com directly, we can use that payment information to find the correct account and website. Since this is a public forum, please do not share any billing details here. Instead, please go through our account recovery process using your WordPress.com transaction ID (found on your bank statement) to verify account ownership: https://wordpress.com/support/account-recovery/#verify-your-account-ownership
Once you enter those details in the secure form, we can locate the account you are paying for and help you get back in.

I had already done that – twice yesterday – I entered my credit card WP transaction number exactly as requested by the form and so far I’ve received no response from WP. The only thing I can see doing next is to instruct my bank to stop any payments to WP and start all over again with another provider like GoDaddy. However, I’d lose all the hundreds of hours of work I’ve invested over several years into my WP sites. Not to mention the fact that I have become quite proficient at building WP sites. Not sure where to turn next, but I appreciate your advice and I’ll try it one more time today to see if I get any results or any response from WordPress.

I can asure you that http://www.fleetchallenge.com exixted on the WordPress platform for several years until I mothballed it in November 2023 after selling the company. It was dormant until Sept. 2025 when I re-opened it and transitioned the content to a new brand and domain http://www.nextgenfleet.org.

Once again today, I tried using the WordPress.com transaction ID (found on my bank statement) to verify my account ownership and I completed the form: https://wordpress.com/support/account-recovery/#verify-your-account-ownership. It accepted. my WP transaction ID but the only thing it allowed me to do was to change my WP login password which takes me to the WP account that shows I have no domains and no websites. Until last week I had a website and 2 domains, plus e-maila accounts I set up via WP, but I can no longer access them. I’m out of ideas and there is no way to speak to WP to find the problem. I thank the forum advisors for their responses but the remedy did not work. There is a bigger puzzle to solve. The bank transaction number should be the clue but WP does not respond and I cannot talek to a human.

I followed the instructions shown on the WP recovery link. It didnt get me anywhere. So I tried just logging into the website as anyone would do using Google Chrome http://www.nexgenfleet.org. Here’s what I what I got . The screen capture confirms that I do have a domain name and there’s a website for it on WordPress. However, the challenge is trying to access it. I’ve tried everything account. recovery did not work and I did not get a response from WP as they indicated I would which is totally discouraging and everything I’ve tried has failed so far. I can’t do a password reset using the email address that the account was originally set up on years ago because the email address no longer exists. So every method I have of resetting the password is blocked. I don’t wanna hear this.

Is there any way of speaking to a rel person at WP? Their chatbot AI tells me that talking to a real human is only available to people with a paid plan. But it’s not recognizing that I do actually have a paid plan that I have confirmed appears on my bank statement every month and I have transaction IDs to validate that. Without WP recognizing my paid account I can’t speak to anyone. It’s an endless loop going nowhere. I think the forum for their help but so far no one has come up with a solution to get out of this mess. If there was a back door phone number to actually contact WordPress, I might be able to make some progress but so far I found no way to reach the company.

wordpress.com doesn’t have phone support.
http://www.nextgenfleet.org/ is running on the wordpress.com platform but has never been launched.
As you have a paid plan, simply use the Transaction ID to restore access to the account owning that site as described at https://wordpress.com/support/account-recovery/#transaction-id

I’m not staff (or a robot) but I see you have reached the Catch 22 that annoys so many people here. You are logged into a free account so don’t qualify for priority support. Your paid account should easily be reachable by using the account recovery form. All you need is your username and password and you’re good to go.
Do you recall the username you set up to be associated with the site you want to reach? Did you write down the password? Your username used to be Fleetchallenge (looking at your old site at the Wayback Machine) but you must have changed it.
The underlying site https://fleetchallenge.wordpress.com diverts to nextgenfleet.org which hasn’t been launched yet
I also see https://nextgenfleet.wordpress.com is set to private

Wow Magic Robot, that’s the best information I’ve received so far after days of wrangling with this problem. You’ve nailed it. The problem is that the username and email address that I originally started the original fleet challenge account with is no longer accessible since I sold the company all the assets of the company went to the new owner. And I had to retire the email address. I don’t recall the username I went with because it was years ago and it automatically populated every time I went into the WordPress so it wasn’t something I retained in my frontal memory. So when I try to reset it using wordPress it defaults to the original email address and I can no longer receive emails at that address since it’s defunct. That’s the catch 22. I have used the account recovery form several times now and it goes nowhere and I get no response from WordPress. The only option I can see now is to advise my bank to not honour any more payments to WordPress and switch to another provider and start from Scratch with a new website. Or I was thinking about launching a new website based on the domain which I purchased through WordPress, but I’m afraid I might get caught up in this loop of problems again. Very frustrated ready to give up. But my business and my livelihood depend on this website. When I Google http://www.nexgenfleet.org I get the blue screen. That is what you see when I meant when a website is private or not been launched. So that tells me that it exists. I just need to get in to reset it so it goes live. But I ‘m blocked with everything I’ve tried. I’m sure I’m not the only one to have face this conundrum but it’s driving me crazy. I’m ready to pull out my remaining hair. Especially frustrating part is you can’t reach the so-called happiness engineers at WordPress. There should be some sort of consumer protection against scams like this, which is essentially what it is if you’re paying money for something and you can’t do anything about it other than blocking the pay at the bank that is a scam.

Can anyone on this forum recommend a web platform other than WP? I’m ready to give up with WordPress and start fresh and build a brand new website over again even though I still have one running in WordPress that is dormant because I’m unable to activate it. How is Go Daddy? Do they have problems like this, that are impossible to resolve by the consumer?
-
I’m starting to think that my next course of action is to launch a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. I understand they will take action on companies that take advantage of consumers like this. WordPress takes. my money every month and I have nothing to show for it. And they have created a situation where it impossible for me to get any help with correcting whatever the problem is, and blocking access to my account although they manage to take my money every month. To me, that fits the definition of a crooked operation and my understanding is it’s the type of crooks that Better Business Bureau helps consumers with.

You registered the domain nextgenfleet.org on 15th September 2025 right here at WordPress.com and it has been connected to your fleetchallenge.wordpress.com site presumably by you at that time. So you had access to the right account then. How did you log in back in September. Was it with a username or with an email address? I have added a modlook tag to ask a member of staff if they would be kind enough to follow up with this.
