Can't get into my dashboard on wordpress site

    I am on my wordpress.com site

    I click on WP admin to get to dashboard

    I then get the message to login with username(or email) and password

    I login with the same username/email and password that I use to get onto my wordpress.com site

    I then get the message ‘Error your password is incorrect’

    I’m not sure what to do then

    First, try typing the password again and then click the icon to the right of the password (it looks like an eye with a diagonal line through it) to see if you typed the password correctly. Don’t worry, only you can see your password.

    If you had typed it correctly and it still won’t let you in, please try clearing your browser’s cache, then if that also doesn’t work, come back to this thread in the forum and tag it ‘modlook’ (without the quotes) in the Tags field on the right of your question, so that staff can reply to you.

    Alternatively, if you’d like to try resetting your password, you can, via this:

    Hi there, if you are trying to get into the dashboard for depthcounsellingtoronto.com that site is using the open source WordPress software and is hosted with SiteGround rather than being hosted here on WordPress.com

    Your WP Admin username and password on your WP site should be different than the login for the WPcom account you are using to post here in the WPcom forums. Because your site is connected to WPcom via the jetpack plugin, you can do some things on your WP site from here. However, to access WP Admin for your WP site, you need the other login. If you need to reset that login https://wordpress.org/support/article/resetting-your-password/

    In general for help with with a site using the open source WP software, you’ll want to head over to https://wordpress.org/support/ where you’ll find documentation and users who have more experience with the software you are using. If you don’t have a username on the ORG forums you can register one on the top of that page.
