can’t get into site after trying to change http to https

    Hi! I recently started a website and tried to follow someones directions on changing my url from http to https. Unfortunately I must have done something wrong because I can’t even get into my site/dashboard or anything.

    Hi there,

    Did you log into WP-Admin and change this under Settings ->General? In that case, your site is not hosted with us on WordPress.com, but using the open source WordPress.org software at another host. Sites on WordPress.com have HTTPS enabled by default, and we don’t offer any setting for that where you can manually change anything.

    Changing the domain on a stand-alone WordPress site like yours has to follow a specific process. You can find the documentation for that process here, though many hosting providers have their own process for this via their hosting control panel.

    Depending on your setup, you might be able to fix this yourself using those instructions. If not, please contact your hosting provider directly for help.
