Can’t get logged in even though I have the login credentials

  Hey there – another admin user set me up with an account. Unfortunately I never received the email invite (checked junk, spam and all mail folders, too). Username is (email visible only to moderators and staff). I have the password. When I try to login to the url listed above I am not prompted for a username and just get an error saying I’m not allowed to login. SOOOOO…I tried on an incognito window and am now getting an error message that I’ve exceeded the number of allowed login attempts. Please try again in 1205 minutes. I need to get someone from WordPress to reset this so I don’t have to wait 20 hours.

  Hi there,

  What is the URL of the site you’ve been invited to?

  The email address you provided above was used for the WordPress.com account you’re using to post here, but you registered this account only a few hours ago. Our logs don’t show invitation emails set to that address from any site hosted on our servers.

  Thanks for your reply. I figured it out. It’s a WordPress site but is hosted on another server. I’m not as technical as would have been helpful but I figured out who needed to help me! All good to go now. Thanks again for replying to help. I appreciate it. -Kate

  Hi there, what is the solution? Even I am having trouble with login button not working. Seems some issue recently started happening on wordpress sites.

  The OP’s issue was with a site that’s not hosted on WordPress.com, so their issue had nothing to do with us.

  If you’re having trouble with a WordPress.com site, please open your own support request at https://wordpress.com/help/contact and include a link to the site you need help with.

  If you’re having trouble accessing a WordPress website hosted somewhere else, please contact support at your hosting provider directly. We don’t have any control over logging into sites not hosted on our servers.
