Can't get Music Player widget to work in sidebar

I have a premium account w/ 32 gigs of space. I uploaded 11 mp3 files. I go to the Music Player widget and I have tried both options, the shortcode and the choose files. When I try the shortcode – as demonstrated here: http://en.support.wordpress.com/audio/ the only thing that shows up is the title of the widget. When I use the choose files option, I tic the checkboxes and then click on the Insert Playlist into post button and It takes me to a blank page with no options (…/media-upload.php?tab=playlist&post_id=0).
I have read and re-read the instructions until I’m blue in the face. I have searched the forums with no helpful solution. I can’t even find a wordpress.com blog with a working Music Player widget in a sidebar. I am beginning to think that the widget does not work at all and should be removed from the list of available widgets.
Is it possible to get a knowledgeable response to this issue?

ADDENDUM: The shortcode I am trying to use looks like this…
[playlist tracks="1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11"]
I figure since I have 11 mp3 files, I simply list them all. I have tried variations, such as just listing one or a couple but no success. I figure that since the example short code looks like this: [playlist tracks="32,10"] that it is saying play tracks # 32 and #10. Am I reading this wrong? If I am, then there should be a better explanation of the shortcode given on the audio instruction page.
