Cant get past my own password protection

I’ve set up a password for my blog but every time I enter it it just opens a new tab asking for the password again?

Thanks. This could very well just be an issue with your browser. Can you try clearing the cache or using a different browser to test it out. Thanks.

Thanks for the reply, but I’ve tried both things you suggested and the result is the same. An endless loop of password requests.

Google chrome, as mentioned earlier I have tried using different browsers, cleared cache etc.

This kind of thing tends to happen if you are blocking cookies. Normally that’s done on a per-browser basis, but it’s possible you’ve got all of them set that way, or perhaps you’re running a program that blocks them for you in all browsers.
Can you check here?

Noting too, typically we only see those issues if you’re using another domain name on your site, so it’s odd it’s still happening with your site having a WordPress.com address.

I checked the link you left and yes my third party cookies are enabled. I don’t need to re log no, but I have made 2 accounts and a few different sites to try and fix this issue.
I need it to be accessible to someone else with a password protection for a university assignment. It didn’t work in the past and I had to re-submit so i’m anxious even if I manage to get it to work for myself, the marker might have an issue. Though nothing like this seemed to happen for any of my class mates.

Ahh I understand now. The link itself is password protected, and when you enter that it just comes up again with the password prompt?
Can you edit the page and adjust the password, update that, and then see if that works?

The editor page appearing blank indicates your browser is not loading all the data that page needs to work.
Clear your browser cache, and disable any browser add-ons you have installed:
If that doesn’t work, please check if using another browser makes any difference.

Okay I did a bunch of tinkering and re – did all these steps and I finally have a site that seems to be working! thanks to everyone in this thread for their help.
