Can’t get rid of “About” on main blog page

  Just below the search box there’s a bit of text with “About – This is the about text” that I’d like to remove/change. I can’t find anywhere in control panel so I’m not sure as to how I can go about editing it.

  Wrong site I’m afraid as you’re hosted elsewhere. The software site is at http://wordpress.org (ie Note the wordpress.org link in your blog’s footer) You’re at a host which runs a specialized version of the wordpress software.
