can't get rid of blog header and footer

My website is listed as a static homepage, but it appears in in blog format, with a blog header and footer. Under Reading Settings the website is set to a static homepage, and that posts are set to appear on a separate page. The homepage shows up as it should, but with additional space at the top for a header and posts/comments/archive etc. added to the bottom of the page as a blog footer. I am using an Elementor theme which can be used as a static homepage. I can’t remove the wordpress blog header and footer, does anyone know what could fix this issue?
