Can't get rid of blogroll widget on Oxygen theme
-
I’m using the Oxygen theme, which I love, but I don’t want the blogroll or meta widgets on my blog and I can’t get rid of them. How can I remove them?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

The blog linked to your username is wearing the Pilcrow theme. Please post an active link starting with http:// to the blog you are referring to wearing Oxygen. When we activate a theme there is a default sidebar display that appears to contain actual widgets. When we go here > Appearance > Widgets and select the widgets we want to use, open the widgets, click “save” and close” inside them, then our widget choices override the default display.

I’m actually having the same problem. I tried to save and close the widgets and it didn’t override the default.
The widgets I can edit are on the left-hand side and the “blogroll” defaul is on the right.

The sidebar in question was labeled the “secondary sidebar” and it was blank. When I added a widget to it, the defaults were overridden and both the blogroll and meta login info were removed.problem solved! thanks for your help though.

There doesn’t seem to be a way to have NO widgets at all.. does anybody know how to make it so there are no widgets on this layout?

I believe you have to put a wiget into one of the areas then deactivate it. I did something like that for one of my blogs about a year ago and it mostly worked, although I think there were a few wigets still there. Try that and see what happens.
