Can't get rid of category

I have a default category in my blog: nonverbal learning disability category that I do not want to appear in the sidebar under categories. How do I keep it from not showing up on my sidebar? THanks~

Setting a new default category must be done first then you can delete the other one. No, you will not lose any past posts. -

Another question: I uploaded social icons that are png files to my library and followed the directions for adding image sidebar widgets. THe links work, but the cons aren’t appearing, just blue boxes with question marks. How do I get the logos to appear here or better yet, my Gridspace header without using code ?
