Can't Get Rid of the Orange Number

I do not like the new means of notifications on the admin bar, but I guess I am stuck. I usually click on it, just so the orange goes away. This morning, it is bright orange and when I click on it, nothing happens. It worked fine a couple days ago. I checked my NoScripts and yes, they are all ALLOWED for WordPress.

oops! I made a stupid mistake above and I apologize for it. Another blogger reported the same problem and Staff fixed it. I’m flagging this thread for Staff attention.

The orange notifications button has disappeared from my Admin bar. I assume this means Staff are working on the feature. As I don’t strongly rely on that button and display provided when it’s clicked, and as it does not impact my blogging in any way, I’m choosing to be patient and assuming when Staff are done working on it that the button will reappear.

I don’t rely on the whole bar altogether, so I am willing to even ignore. The last time a banner got stuck on the dashboard, it took several years for it to disappear.

Click on the notification number, then click on the new notification(s) to the left. It should go away after that.

Thank you very much. It works now. I think the Dashboard looks nicer now without the orange spot. :)
