Can't get rid of WordPress connection to my domain

  I have my own domain that I connected to wordpress hosting in the past via dns settings. I have, however, decided to change my host, have deleted my wordpress site completely, removed my billing plan, cancelled my subscription, and placed my new host’s dns settings to my domain. Nonetheless, every time I type in my domain, regardless of having deleted all connection to wordpress, google opens a wordpress.com site offering a sign up, etc, saying that this domain is no longer available. I am going crazy here, please help ASAP because I already have my clients wanting to shop online, being redirected to this situation …
