Can’t get Sharing feature with LinkedIn Working
-
I was working on a post and saw that I needed to approve something (again!) to auto-share with linkedin. I followed the prompts and they did nothing.
So, I went to the ‘Sharing’ Tab on WordPress. I see nothing there. Actually, reading your instructions, I should see some kind of circle-ish icon, but I only see a modified sideways ‘V’ and no instructions about setting up or removing the auto-posting to FB, LI, Twitter, etc. Could you help?thanks,
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi @ilmugwump, I can see you were able to add a new Linked In connection within the past day. Can you confirm this is the feature you’re looking for?
https://en.support.wordpress.com/publicize/When you write a post, if you’re using the block editor, look for a Jetpack icon in the upper right. That tab will have your sharing settings.
We also have a feature that can display a sharing icon on a published post, so if you’re referring to that instead, let us know.

Thanks so much for responding. This is confounding to me.
First, no it’s not a new LinkedIn connection. I’ve been connected for some time. It’s just I was asked to confirm that connection. And it doesn’t seem that it worked. I still see that I need to confirm the connection.
Second, while I’m on what my dashboard tells me is the latest WordPress, I believe I have reverted the post editing page to the “classic” aka previous version.
In the version I’m using, I don’t see the Jetpack icon in the upper right (which I think you mean my right hand). I see the jetpack icon and name on the left side in a column that includes Dashboard, etc. When I go to that Jetpack icon, it takes me to the same blank page when I go to “sharing”.
So, what can I do? Where is the issue? Should I add on the feature you mention?
thanks again.

Hi there,
If I view your site settings from my end I don’t see a notice to reconnect, and our logs show you have already reconnected several times, so that is a new connection. Please check if clearing your browser cache makes that notice go away.
If not, disconnect again on our end, and then go to your LikedIn settings under Permitted Services, and remove WordPress there:
https://www.linkedin.com/psettings/permitted-services
Then again clear your browser cache, go to My Site ->Sharing, and reconnect.
The Jetpack icon @supernovia referred to will only be visible in the block editor, yes. If you’re using the Classic Editor plugin, the sharing options will be in the Publish module on the right side of the editor.
I see the jetpack icon and name on the left side in a column that includes Dashboard, etc.
So that’s when you’re in the WP-Admin section for your site. As your site is not hosted on WordPress.com, but using the open source WordPress software, that works different for you than it works on WordPress.com, and we can’t help you with that.
If you’re having any trouble with the Jetpack options there, it’s best to contact Jetpack support directly for further help:
